What is it to own. A house ? A piece of land ? where do you take it with you. How much land does a man need ?
There was this story about the great king, who announced that his kingdom is so vast that he would give as much land to a man who covers it from sunrise to sunset.
There were many who came , but one which is worth mentioning is this guy .
He reported early on the start point and at the given time, started running towards the fields.
by Noon he had covered a handsome area.
It was time to have the lunch break or to even stop for having some water.
But he thought that in the meantime , he can cover another piece of land.
By evening he had farms, huts, waterfalls, everything more then he needed or wanted within his soon to be property.
It started to get dark.
The sun was almost on the verge of setting down and he hadn’t reached the starting point which was the precondition to the offer.
he finally struggled very hard to reach the starting point , but in the process of overexertion and no hydration, he did reached to the starting line.
and Died.
and the only piece of land that remained his, was this 6 ft of grave where he eventually got burried.
Imagine the time you came here. Little did you know what would it mean to own.
Then there were siblings.
You started calling the toy car yours.
There, you see here was it that the first thoughts of Owning things and control were planted.
If its yours , you can do x y z with it.
Did we count all the things that are not yours and still a thing of beauty?
The river that flows wasnt owned by you, or the trees or the sky or the stars.
Once a while we need to smile at the warmth of the sun when the breeze is chilling your spine and the shade of a tree when the sun is burning alive.
Take out a minute right now as you read this.
Lean back and close your eyes. Get clear (let go all the thoughts that dont need your attention forthe moment and then let go all the thoughts as you do have the right to take out a minute or two for yourself )
Think of all the things you have had and everything that youre blessed with. All the Experiences and all goodness. Esch Place you lived had a splendour of its own.
a little thanks to all the things we take for granted from the eyes that read this to the school that taught you how to.
Life’s Amazing.
It’s yours.
How much land does a man needs.
How much do you?
Come back before it’s sunset.
